Brooks Entwistle has remained the Chairman of “Goldman Sachs” of Southeast Asia. After Uber’s announcement today, Entwistle said in a statement that:
“After twenty years working in Asia, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity of shaping how the region moves over the next twenty.”
As Chief Business Officer (CBO), Entwistle will be responsible for the business development, marketing across Asia region and corporate development excluding China and India as Uber is not operational in these 2 countries yet.
Uber also has plans to explore more business opportunities and invest and grow its presence/business via strategic partnerships in the region.
Entwistle will also work on Uber’s relationships with Asia-Pacific governments because currently Uber has faced bad experience with Philippines Government after its suspension from the country. Moreover, Uber is out of Macau and is also knee-capped in Taiwan and is returned with a licensed taxi service after UberX was ruled to be illegal. It has also been sent back from Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand among other places within 2 years of time period.
Brooks Entwistle will also be handling Pakistan’s matters as currently Uber doing good in Pakistan as well as compared to the other regional countries.
